Our commitment to responsible design
At Bookteriors, sustainability is not a marketing position — it is a natural extension of what we do. Real books are inherently more sustainable than disposable décor. They are made to last, to be read, to be passed on. Our job is to make sure they are sourced, used, and retired responsibly.
Every book in a Bookteriors collection is a real, readable volume — not a hollow prop or a printed facade. When a project concludes, books can be donated, repurposed, or redistributed rather than discarded. We actively encourage our clients to find second lives for their collections.
We prioritize publishers and suppliers who use FSC-certified paper, soy-based inks, and responsible manufacturing practices. Where possible, we source from domestic publishers to reduce the carbon footprint of our supply chain.
A well-curated book collection is not a trend — it is a lasting design element. We select books for their durability as well as their beauty, choosing cloth and leather bindings that age gracefully and remain relevant across design cycles.
We ship our collections in recycled and recyclable materials, and we work to minimize excess packaging at every stage. Our fulfillment process is designed to protect books in transit without generating unnecessary waste.
When clients refresh or replace their collections, we facilitate donations to libraries, schools, literacy organizations, and community centers. Books that leave one project find a meaningful home in another.
We are always looking for ways to reduce our environmental footprint and increase the positive impact of our work. If you have questions about our practices or want to discuss a donation partnership, we would love to hear from you.
